About Hartpury Upholstery

My name is Sam Prentice and I am the owner of Hartpury Upholstery.

I started my career in upholstery in 1982, working with both my father and uncle as their trainee upholsterer for a chain of hotels in London and I gained my City & Guilds qualification from the London College of Furniture in 1985.

From there, I moved to a small upholstery retail shop where I was part of a small team upholstering a range of furniture from new to antique. I then moved to an interior design studio and the work varied from complete house renovation to single bespoke items.

My next move was to an antique restoration shop in South Kensington London, where I undertook work from modern classical furniture to the restoration of antique pieces, working there for over 8 years.

I then decided to move to Gloucestershire and I opened my own upholstery and restoration business in the village of Hartpury.
